A brawl broke out over the best seats for viewing a play put on by Ridgemoor Elementary School kindergartners in Manifee, California in February 2016. Parents who walked to the front of the auditorium to film the production supposedly instigated the fight. Those who were sitting in the primo front-row seats were upset that others were blocking their view. Unkind words were exchanged and then things got physical. The play was called off as police grappled with an angry crowd 300 strong. No arrests were made, but a Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy, Michael Vasquez said of the incident, "Sometimes adults act in funny ways."

In February 2015, a Texas mother was arrested after she pulled a gun on a teenage girl who was fighting her daughter in a playground scuffle. Viridiana Alvarez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a photo surfaced from the fight that shows the 33-year-old pointing a handgun at the head of the girl, who has her daughter pinned to the ground. The melee, which was eventually broken up by campus police, started because of a disagreement over a boy. One girl challenged the other to a fight after school. Ted Myers, the father of the other girl involved, said he knew about the brawl, but only became when upset when he saw footage of Alvarez pointing a gun at his daughter. Alvarez said the pistol was not loaded, and she merely wanted to scare the other girl. She was held in the Harris County Jail on a $35,000 bond.

While police continue investigating an incident at River View Primary School and Nursery in Burton-on-Trent, East Staffordshire that took place in March 2016, a 12-year-old named Lucas has a definite opinion about what he saw. Lucas and other students watched helplessly as two moms traded insults before one assaulted the other. His mother, Laura, 37, said that she was horrified to hear what had happened at her children's school from her son. She explained: "He stated that they started shouting at each other and then one went for the other one. He was right next to them. He was very matter of fact about it and just said: 'It's pathetic mum.'" Laura added that she was frustrated that some other parents had been blaming the school for the incident: "It's not the school's fault at all. They did the best in the circumstances by calling the police." Parents are currently banned from entering the school while a review of the incident is pending.

Police were called to break up a mass brawl which erupted at a junior soccer match when the referee awarded three penalties—in the space of five minutes. Witnesses said the trouble flared after ref Oliver Howard awarded a spate of contentious penalties and sent two players off within a few minutes during a match between the Halesowen Town Colts and Halesowen Harriers in West Midlands. Howard was attacked by angry supporters of one team before parents started brawling with each other in the middle of the pitch as children looked on in horror. A 49-year-old man was taken to the hospital and needed stitches for a head wound after being battered with a walking stick. Another unidentified man, 52, was arrested after the melee.

PEZ Candy abruptly canceled its annual Easter egg hunt in Orange, Connecticut in 2016 after parents disobeyed rules and turned the child-focused tradition "into a mess," the company said in a statement. The company placed over 9,000 eggs on three separate fields, each of which was designated for a particular age group with start times 15 minutes apart, but parents rushed onto the areas before the posted start times. One parent said her son got a bloody nose from another parent pushing him to the ground while a third claimed her son's Easter basket was broken in the rush. While some parents blamed PEZ on social media (we know, we can't believe it either), others supported the company. "Grow up folks and teach your kids some responsibility by acting like mature adults, not rabid dogs," Don Bistro wrote on the company's page. "PEZ didn't do this," Nicole Arleen wrote. "It was the 'looting' mentality of the parents who thought they could get as much as they wanted, no matter what the cost. If this event goes on for a fourth year, PEZ should not have to hire security personnel to keep the parents in check." Despite the fracas that ensued, Orange Police said they did not respond to the event.

A video posted on Facebook purporting to show a fight between women over a parking space at the Houston Zoo is going viral. In the video, several women throw punches. At one point, a woman with a stroller runs up and joins in, while her little girl witnesses the entire thing. Another zoogoer, Linda Padilla, recorded it for posterity. She said, "That lady was not gonna have it. She was like, 'that's my spot and I'm standing here to guard it for the rest of the family.'" The video garnered more than 100,000 views in one day. Some commenters lamented the lack of available parking spaces: "It was only a matter of time before something like this happened." But others were shocked at the behavior of the moms in question saying, "That's just ridiculous. You don't do that. What are you showing your kids?"

A woman involved in a brawl at an Indianapolis Walmart in June 2015 was charged—not for assault against another adult, but for urging her 6-year-old son to punch and kick the woman as she lay on the ground. Video of the fight went viral as the two women, identified as Amber Stephenson and Rebecca Mills, tussled on the floor of the store. Stephenson can be heard egging her son on in the video, telling him to “punch her in the [expletive] face.” The child punched and kicked the woman, and hit her on the head with what appears to be a bottle of shampoo. He even yelled at the woman, shouting: “I don't care about you, dummy! Ya, do something about it. What are you gonna do?” Stephenson was charged with neglect of a dependent (a felony charge in Indianapolis) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She could face jail time if found guilty.

Players and supporters of the Otay Ranch Broncos youth football team in San Diego demanded answers, after a video surfaced online showing them cursing, punching, and tumbling down the stands during a game. The Broncos and their opponent, the Inland Empire Ducks, were kicked out of the San Diego Youth Football and Cheer League due to the fight in October 2015. The teams of 13 and 14-year-olds were later reinstated but forced to play in Orange County for the rest of the season. The National Prep and Youth Football Association rank the Ducks No. 1 in the state in the 14-and-under division; Otay Ranch is ranked fourth.
